David Beckham has been showered with compliments by Royal Wedding 2018 viewers, after the former professional footballer paused to shake hands with a police officer standing outside St George’s Chapel.
The 43-year-old was one of 600 guests invited to see Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wed at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle this weekend.
Following his arrival at the Royal Wedding 2018, the retired footballer was spotted greeting a police officer who was standing outside the entrance to the 14th century building.
Before entering the chapel, David reached out his hand to greet the officer who was standing guard.
And, as fans noticed the appreciative gesture, many rushed to Twitter to praise the model.
One Twitter user wrote: “Brilliant, symbolic handshake for police officer from David Beckham at the #RoyalWedding.”
“This is a wonderful gesture. #DavidBeckham taking the time to shake a Police Officer’s hand as he walks in,” penned another.
A third told the star: “Good on you for taking time to greet a police officer – a lot of people could learn a thing or two from your example.”
“After all these years of thinking David is just okay my estimation of you has soared after today, openly showing respect for the Police you have a new admirer!
“Thank you David for showing the rest how it should be done,” gushed a fourth.
David was all smiles as he stepped out with his wife, Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham, for the ceremony.
Walking hand-in-hand with the fashion designer, the father-of-four looked very dapper in a morning suit.
Victoria, 44, sported a sophisticated navy blue dress and matching cape, which she teamed with a chic fascinator.
Following the nuptials, David penned a heartfelt message as he gushed over Prince Harry’s “happiness”.
Sharing a series of throwback snaps a younger Prince Harry, as well as a photo of the newlyweds, the star wrote: “What a proud day for our country today!
“Watching Harry as happy as he was makes us all proud of the man and person he has always been… what a day!”
Meanwhile, the singer, dubbed Posh Spice by some, was criticised by some for her serious facial expressions as she arrived at the event.
